Congratulations on the PhD, Dr. Tori Duback!

Tori’s terrific T cells targeted tumors so effectively that today she has earned herself a PhD and the title of “Doctor”.
Tori joined ABNEL back in the fall of 2022 as a Chemical Engineering Industry PhD student with Sana Biotechnology. While only at Northeastern for 2.5 years, Tori has made the most of her time. In addition to continuing her day job at Sana Biotechnology, Tori also managed to find time for her thesis work, getting engaged, and buying a house. Truly one of the most proliferative students to have graced our lab.
Finally finishing her work on targeted T cell therapeutics, Tori plans to continue her work on targeted T cell therapeutics…but only at Sana Biotechnology and with (hopefully) a bit more free time.
Congrats again on the PhD, Tori, and we hope to see you around!

ABNEL Welcomes New PhD Students Kyla and Kirstie
ABNEL welcomes Kyla Nichols and Kirstie Belanger as new PhD students. Kyla comes from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (B.S. Biomedical Engineering) and Kirstie is joining on rotation from the University of Maine (B.S. Biomedical Engineering).
Dr. Abby Koppes, Dr. Ryan Koppes, and Dr. Guohao Dai win the AHA Innovative Project Award!
Dr. Koppes was the co-I on the winning $200,000 American Heart Association (AHA) Innovative Project Award entitled “Bioengineer an autonomic neurovascular system to explore the innervation of arterial grafts.”
